I'm Nóra Árvai, a six-degree clinical health psychologist, lifestyle doctor, PhD in medical futurology.
Dogs have been a part of my life since I was a child, I think it's the usual story that so many of us know: as a little girl I really, really wanted a dog. I had every issue of Dog Magazine and every line of it by heart, and instead of school curriculum, I used to hide the breed-defining encyclopaedias under the covers by flashlight, often even at night.
I grew up in a small flat in a panel flat, and my parents wouldn't let me have my own dog, no matter how much I whined, so I was always hanging around the neighbours who had them.
I wanted a dog so badly that I was able to marry my first boyfriend at the age of 18 when he proposed after a few months. I said yes, but only if we moved to a sublet and I could have a dog. The marriage lasted three months, but the love affair with our Siberian Husky lasted 18 years.
From then on I always had dogs, usually not one, but two, sometimes three. I went to university, got my medical degrees one after the other, and as a hobby I also trained myself in dog walking.
I have become a dog trainer, instructor, therapy dog handler, completed the MEOE's Learned Breeder course and attended a course in reproductive biology at the University of Veterinary Medicine, and participated in a training course in assistance dogs. I have learned a lot, read, experienced, been disappointed, stood up and although I felt that nothing gives me more pleasure than dog walking, it has remained in my life as a simple hobby.
It's an interesting thing. This "simple hobby" has helped me through the most difficult times of my life, it has given me strength and recharged me when mine was running out.
Breeding was a childhood dream of mine, my hectic life, all the travelling I had to do, didn't allow me to fulfil it, and until now I thought that this biggest dream of my life would remain a dream.
However, as is usually the case, something happened. And now, here I am, 39 years old, and it is with great happiness and pride that I can announce to you that our small family kennel, KissMyAussie Kennel, has been established, with a special mission, an innovative approach, which I will tell you more about HERE.
our mission
When you live with a dog, there is more than just keeping a pet: your life is enriched with a wonderful, special relationship. Full of energy, intelligence and boundless love, the Australian Shepherd is not just a dog, but a true companion who makes everyday life happy. Our kennel, Kissmyaussie, is dedicated to providing prospective owners with such a companion. But it means more to us than that: our mission is to raise true, quality, loving, physically and mentally healthy companion animals.
With over 6 medical degrees behind me, I don't breed for a living. For me, dog breeding is a passion, a vocation and a commitment. My heart is to contribute to the preservation and development of this wonderful breed, so that more and more people can experience the special balance an Australian Shepherd can bring to our lives. I believe that every puppy has the right to a loving, healthy life and that every owner should have the opportunity to share their life with a balanced, happy companion.
The Australian Shepherd is a real working dog, full of energy and eager for challenges and tasks. It's not enough for him to walk for ten minutes a day; he needs to really use his intelligence and live out his skills and energy. At Kissmyaussie, the breeding goal is to produce dogs that are not only beautiful and physically healthy by the breed standard, but also truly balanced, loving companions. Although our dogs would look good in any show, we don't breed clowns running around in circles, but companion animals that can live real doggy lives, with their original needs in mind.
When my first Australian Shepherd and I got into the show world, I learned a lot and we had beautiful results. However, the more shows I attended, the more I was confronted with the reality of how these animals were being exploited and tortured under the guise of showing. They were kept in tiny cages, in scorching sun, at 40 degrees, often without a stroke, lest a hair fall out. For me, life for these wonderful animals was torture. The Kissmyaussies kennel, on the other hand, breeds dogs who are beautiful, healthy and, most importantly, happy.
Yes, our dogs are sometimes dirty, sometimes muddy, sometimes silly, sometimes crazy - but always happy, ready to learn and work. They're not just meant to graze in the limelight in a perfectly glittered coat. We strive to ensure that our dogs are healthy, have all the necessary check-ups, have strong nerves and live a balanced life. At our kennel, we really focus on socialisation and building a balanced nervous system - not just in words, but in everyday life. We don't collect trophies, but love, smiles, moments of joy and real experiences. The first aussiem saved my life and changed it forever, how exactly, you can read about it HERE. I give you this opportunity, this feeling, this experience with your KissMyAussie puppy.
Before a KissMyAussie puppy finds a new home, we think it's important to get to know the prospective owners. Therefore, if you are interested in a puppy from us, we will get to know you first and only then decide together whether this breed is really for you. It is important to us that the right dog finds the right owner, so we will also choose together which puppy best suits your lifestyle, so that you can build a happy and harmonious relationship.
The Kissmyaussie kennel aims to bring happiness and joy to each and every puppy in their new home. I want those who take a dog from us to have a truly special companion who is not only beautiful and healthy, but full of life and love. I'm so glad you've visited our site - I hope you'll soon be part of the magical world of KissMyAuussie Australian Shepherd dogs.
